Triflow systems reduce a broad range of contaminants from water. Contaminants found in water can essentially be placed in three different categories - microbiological, chemical and aesthetic. Impurities within these categories that are reduced by the Triflow systems include - harmful bacteria, protozoan organisms such as Giardia and Cryptoporidium cysts, chlorine, foul tastes and odours, specific chemicals, rust particles, sediment and numerous other undesirable contaminants including particles above 0.2 microns in size.

It is only over the last 100 years that man has really understood how crucial the quality of drinking water is to health and well-being. Great strides have been made in almost eradicating diseases like cholera, typhoid and dysentery - particularly in the developed world. The main contributor to this progress, however, is chlorination of the water supply which, in itself, creates an unpleasant residual taste and odour. The majority of complaints received by water supply companies are due to taste and odour. Furthermore, over the last 100 years, industrialisation has resulted in pollution of our land and water courses, which will cause water contamination for many years to come. Indeed, we continue to learn more about the effect of trace contaminants on health, and the quality of drinking water is an ever changing science.

Triflow systems are designed to reduce harmful contaminants from water while retaining minerals such as magnesium, calcium and fluoride, which are essential to good health. Calcium, for example, contributes to the overall taste of drinking water and is a major component of bones and teeth and is essential for various bodily processes such as blood clotting. While some products such as distillers and reverse osmosis systems reduce calcium and other beneficial elements, the Triflow and Tri-Pure systems have been designed to reduce only harmful contaminants while leaving essential minerals intact.

Yes. Most people immediately notice a significant difference in the taste and colour of their drinking water when they install a Triflow system. The extent depends on the level of contaminants in the local water and individual sensory thresholds. Most complaints relating to the taste and odour of tap water are due to the presence of chlorine. As the system reduces turbidity and discolouration, people often notice a marked improvement in the clarity of the treated water. Filtered water enhances the flavour of tea, coffee, soups and cooking in general.

After six months use the matrix core begins to lose its effectiveness. This is because the extruded carbon core becomes saturated and its efficiency diminishes. The white customer information wallet supplied with the system contains a registration card, on which is printed a unique serial number. Returning the card enables us to register your details which in turn will ensure you receive a reminder when a cartridge change is due. Registration will also assist us in dealing with any additional enquiries you may have.

All filter cartridges are compatible with all Triflow systems.

The procedure for replacing the cartridge is very simple and takes only a few minutes. Full instructions explaining how to change the cartridge can be found in the white customer wallet and with every replacement cartridge.

If your filter has been in use for six months or longer, it is due for replacement and will need to be changed. Our online store offers you a convenient and secure way to purchase your replacement cartridges. or alternatively you can contact us on 0845 313 5000 and one of our customer services representatives will be happy to assist you.

If your filter has been in use for less than six months, there could be several possible causes for the clogging:

• Building works in the vicinity – this can result in excess debris contaminating your water supply.
• Burst water mains – this can also lead to excess debris contaminating your water supply.
• Heavy rainfall or extreme weather conditions – this can cause drainage problems and flooding which result in temporary increases in debris contamination.
• Dust from the ceramic – upon initial use of your filter cartridge, dust from the new ceramic can clog the filter.

All of the problems listed above can be resolved by simply cleaning the filter cartridge. To do this, remove the filter from the housing (please ensure you have turned your stop valve off). Take a clean abrasive sponge, such as a new scouring pad, and thoroughly scrub the ceramic exterior of the filter whilst holding under running water. DO NOT use any chemical substances or cleaning fluids to clean your filter. Following this, replace your filter as per normal fitting instructions and you should see an increase in flow rate.

DO NOT attempt to tighten your filter; this is NOT the reason for your leak. The most probable cause for your filter housing leak is because your O-seal E needs replacing. This is located in the top part of your housing. To order a new O-seal E please see our online store or alternatively contact our customer services department on 01708 526 361.

No. A special fixing kit incorporating a tee piece is available locally thereby allowing further supplies of filtered water to be drawn off from a single unit.

The Triflow tap is not a water softener, and unlike some filters, they do not reduce the minerals essential to good health and taste. Calcium and magnesium, perhaps the most essential of these minerals, are the cause of scaling. When water is boiled, some of the temporary hardness in the form of calcium carbonate is precipitated out. In extreme cases this results in the appearance of white flecks in the boiled water or as a surface film on tea and coffee. For customers who suffer from temporary water hardness or are concerned mainly with scale prevention, a special cartridge, the Carbon De-Alk, is available. The Carbon De-Alk cartridge comprises a cylinder filled with “dealkalisation” resin which effectively reduces the calcium associated with temporary hardness.

Security is probably one of the most significant concerns for both the shopper and the retailer during an online transaction. In reality, an online transaction is probably more secure than a card transaction in a shop or conducted over the telephone or by fax, as the information transmitted online is strongly encrypted using complicated logarithm combinations.

Triflow uses the WorldPay payment system for its credit card processing services. WorldPay's public web servers are certified by Thawte, a public Certificate Authority, ensuring that you can have confidence that nobody can impersonate WorldPay to obtain your confidential information.

Transaction Encryption
The transfer of the purchase details from the Triflow site to WorldPay are encapsulated using WorldPays encrypted and digitally-signed protocol. This uses a combination of standard methods such as PGP, RSA and MD5 to ensure that the information passed is secure and tamper-proof via SSL.

Any communication between the shopper and WorldPay is also encrypted to the maximum strength supported by the shopper's browser using 128 Bit SSL. Shoppers are also protected from fraudulent use of their card in a "card not present" environment, by their card issuers. The card issuers provide the right for shopper to dispute a transaction if the goods/services did not arrive or if the card was used fraudulently.

You can confirm that you are connected to a secure server (SSL) by checking that the website address begins with https:// rather than the more usual http://. You will also see a yellow padlock symbol or key in the status bar of your web browser.

Data Storage
For maximum security Triflow does not receive or store any credit card information.

Data storage on WorldPay systems, and the communication between WorldPay and the worldwide banking networks, is regularly audited by the banking authorities to ensure a secure transaction environment. We also ensure that we stay up-to-date with the latest versions of any third-party code we use, and continually review our own proprietary code.
